Survivor' Producer Creates Online Reality Show For MySpace
Think you've got what it takes to run for president?
You could get your chance on the political reality show "Independent," which MySpace and reality TV producer Mark Burnett plan to launch next year.
No TV network has committed to the project yet. But contestants would meet the public and interact with supporters as well as protesters. An interactive "town hall" would give MySpace users and TV viewers a chance to weigh in.
The winner would get $1 million, but there's a catch. The money could only be used to finance a run for the White House or be given to a political action committee or political cause.
Potential candidates will be asked to submit a video. Once the contestants are chosen, they'll set up MySpace profiles to serve as their campaign headquarters.
